Where can you find nitrous oxide?

Nitrous oxide is a colourless gas which is commonly found in cream chargers. Cream chargers are pressurised metal bulbs that are used with a whipped cream dispenser to whip cream almost instantly.

Whipped cream bulbs are used by many cafes, restaurants bars & clubs to quickly and easily whip cream almost instantly when they need it. It takes very little skill to use a whipped cream dispenser and cream chargers to make cream and this along with the speed is why many commercial food and drink businesses use them.

Nitrous oxide cream chargers can also be used to whip other things such as sauces and mouses. Furthermore, it is becoming popular for flavour infusion. For example, if you want a fruit flavoured cocktail, you can add vodka or other alcohol to the dispenser with the fruit you want to flavour it with, then add the nitrous oxide cream charger and this will help dissolve the fruit flavour into the alcohol quickly.

Nitrous oxide is also used for cars. Nitrous oxide contains oxygen (N2O) and when burned a high temperatures nitrous oxide releases the oxygen and can provide extra power to the car engine.

Nitrous oxide is also used an an aesthetic by doctors and dentists. If you have needed to have a tooth pulled or other painful activity at your dentist you may have been administered nitrous oxide.
